Who Are We

The Keowee Anglers is a group we now know as “The Anglers” or “The Fishing Club”.

The club was formed in the mid-90’s by a few members of the "Newcomers Club of The Foothills" who discovered their shared passion for fishing and the opportunities to utilize beautiful Lake Keowee in South Carolina.

Members decided to meet from 10 to noon on the first Thursday of the month to swap experiences and invite speakers on subjects of common interest.

As word spread, others living around the lake, and a few beyond, joined (all guys and gals are welcome). As membership grew, it became necessary to introduce a modest degree of formality to provide a structure for the club’s activities.

Today the club consists of approximately 80 members with a leadership group filled by volunteers. Speaker meetings and the summer month real time fishing round tables are conducted from 10 to noon on the first Thursday of the month. Tournament Award Luncheons are conducted from 12:45PM until approx 2:00 PM on the last day of each tournament. The location of these activities will be posted on our home web page.

The Board meets at 12:00 PM on the Thursday following the regular membership meeting except in June and July at a location TBD (all club members are welcome to attend). The meeting location will be posted on our home web page.
