Keowee Anglers October 06-07 2010 Bass Tournament Rules
1. All electronic entries must be submitted by Midnight, Monday, September 27th, and all snail-mail and phone entries must be received by that date also. To submit entries electronically, go to the Keowee Anglers website at http://www.keoweeanglers.com, click on the oval for "Tournament Registration", fill in the blanks in the form, and click on the submit button at the bottom of the form.
2. The tournament awards luncheon is tentatively scheduled for 12:30 PM, October 07th in the Meeting Room at the South Marina at Keowee Key, that ‘s the Marina Villas Marina. The tournament director will initiate a final communication on this. There is no other tournament entry fee, only the cost of whatever lunch you order for yourself.
3. Each team will consist of a Prize angler and a Non-prize Angler. (all contestants need to be club members … that is the only restriction).
4. Each team will pick its own fishing time on October 06th or the morning of October 07th ending before noon on October 07th. The team must select one and only one period of 4 consecutive hours to fish during that period before starting to fish the tournament. Once you start fishing, your 4 hours starts. If you fish your period, and are not happy with the results, you may not fish a second period in this tournament.
5. Fish may be caught on hook and line by any legal means with the added restriction that no more that two lures/baits may be attached to any fishing line or any reel. Fish must be measured to the nearest 1/4 inch. The only fish that count in the tournament are Largemouth, Smallmouth, Spotted, Red-eye Bass, and cross-breeds of these bass species with a minimum length of 12 inches caught by the team during their self-designated 4-hour period.
6. The prizes go to the teams (1st - 4th) with the single longest bass. Each team will submit the lengths of up to 5 legal bass caught during the tournament, up to 3 caught by one member and up to 2 caught by the other member. Even though for this tournament only the one longest bass will be used to determine the winners, the total of up to 5 as described above will be combined with the numbers from the other tournaments during the year to determine the best Random Match Team Members of the year. Bass need not be saved as proof, but may be recorded and released.
7. If there is a weather delay or other change of date, then the Tournament Director will email (and call everyone who does not have email) by 10 PM on Tuesday, October 05th. A small amount of forecast rain will not result in a weather delay. In the unlikely event that a weather delay is called, the luncheon on October 07th will continue as planned. In that case, a monthly meeting will follow the luncheon, and a new tournament date will be communicated at that time if it was not already communicated in the original weather delay communication.
8. In the case of any disputes, the decision of the Tournament Director is final..
